Terms of use

VELA is a professional directory of models working in South Africa. Models list a profile with photographs, measurements and a guide day rate. Brands, photographers, agencies and production companies browse those profiles free of charge and contact models directly through the site.

VELA is not a modelling agency, a talent manager or a booking agent. We are not a party to any agreement between a model and a client, we do not negotiate fees, and we take no commission on any booking.

You must be 18 or older to create a listing. You must be the person shown in the photographs, and you must have the right to publish every image you upload.

Listings are reviewed before they go live. We may decline or remove a listing at our discretion, including where photographs appear not to be of the account holder, where details appear false, or where content breaches these terms.

VELA is a professional modelling directory only. Nudity, sexually explicit content, escort or companionship services, and any offer of in-person services of a sexual nature are strictly prohibited and will result in immediate removal without refund.

Do not upload photographs of anyone other than yourself, images you do not have the rights to, or content that is unlawful, defamatory or discriminatory.

Listings are offered on monthly plans. Plan fees are for the listing and its placement on VELA, not for any guaranteed booking, enquiry volume or income. No booking is promised or implied.

Plans run month to month and may be cancelled at any time from your dashboard. Cancellation stops future billing; fees already paid for the current month are not refunded.

Enquiries sent through VELA must relate to genuine professional work. Harassment, spam, scam offers and any request for sexual content or services are prohibited and may be reported to us for action.

Models negotiate and contract with clients directly. We strongly recommend agreeing the fee, the shoot details and the usage rights in writing before any work begins.

VELA provides the directory as-is. We do not verify the identity, solvency or intentions of any client who contacts a model, and we are not responsible for the conduct of any user, the outcome of any booking, or any loss arising from an arrangement made between users.

Verification badges indicate that we have reviewed a listing for plausibility and photograph consistency. They are not a background check or a guarantee of anything.

We may update these terms. Material changes will be notified to listed models by email. Continued use of VELA after a change means you accept the updated terms.
